Formulation of EC Country strategy paper for Somalia 2008 – 2013

Objectives

The objectives of this two day consultation meeting were mainly about:

•  NSA contribution sought in formulating the country strategy paper

•  Enhance partnership between NSAs and EC activities through the consultation process

•  Expand space available for NSAs and EC/EU

•  Strengthen NSA role in peace building

Presentation

CRD Acting director Hassan Sheikh made the first presentation under the topic the new EC Country Strategy Paper 2008 – 1013. He first highlighted historical background of cotonou agreement and its new development stages. This was followed by a plenary discussion after which the participants were split into six group works and ask to work on various subjects on the presentation and then report back to the plenary.
